As the season has gotten underway for Florida Basketball, one of the backstories not involving the Todd Golden investigation was the eligibility of Solevian guard Urban Klavzar. He missed the first three games for the Gators while the NCAA cleared up his eligibility status regarding whether or not he was considered a "professional" after appearances in Spain.

Golden and crew got great news on Thursday that Klavzar is cleared to play and will be able to suit up against FSU on Friday.

Florida Basketball: From Downtown

One early area of concern for Florida this season has been their three-point shooting. While Florida has shown an ability to drive to the rim and score, their attempts from downtown have been downright eye-gouging.

Florida has only made 26.4% of their attempts from deep, 288th in the country to start the season.

This is where Klavzar comes into play and could be a huge boost for Florida. At 6'1", he isn't considered a big guard, but one of his strong suits while playing in Europe was his shot-making ability. Playing in the Euro U20 tournament with Slovenia, Klavzar was 18/47 from deep and averaged over 16 points per game.

But Klavzar is also noted for his ability to drive to the rim if needed and he should be a major rotation piece for the Gators to take some of the pressure off of the rest of Florida's guards.

He will be considered a sophomore by the NCAA, giving him three years of eligibility in college.

Florida takes on FSU on Friday.
