After Florida's midweek contest against Florida A&M's postponement, the Gators will return to action as they welcome the Flyers of Dayton to Condron Family Ballpark.
This series presents another opportunity for Kevin O'Sullivan and his staff to experiment with new lineups and positioning, a trait that was certainly custom during Florida's season-opening series win against Air Force.
This series will also be the first time Florida and Dayton have squared off in baseball.
Starting pitchers
Florida Head Coach Kevin O'Sullivan is planning to roll with the same starting pitching rotation used against Air Force. The rotation proved extremely successful during Florida's rout over the Falcons, most notably including an excellent performance from Pierce Coppola, a redshirt-junior.
1. Liam Peterson

Peterson will mark his second appearance of the season. In his 2025 season debut against Air Force, Peterson recorded eleven strikeouts, surrendering two hits, one walk, and zero earned runs in six innings of play.
2. Jake Clemente

Clemente will mark his second appearance of the season. In his 2025 season debut against Air Force, Clemente recorded eight strikeouts, surrendering three hits, zero walks, and two earned runs in six innings of play.
3. Pierce Coppola

Coppola will mark his second appearance of the season. In his 2025 season debut against Air Force, Coppola recorded twelve strikeouts, surrendering one hit, one walk, and zero earned runs in five innings of play.
A look at the Flyers
Dayton, led by head coach Scott Loiseau, hasn't had the start they've desired. The Flyers began their 2025 campaign with losses to Monmouth in a double-header on February 14th, before following their underwhelming performance with wins against Western Michigan in a second doubleheader the following day. Their scheduled home-opener against Western Kentucky on Tuesday was postponed due to snow and frigid weather.
The Flyers will look to flip the script and gain a resume-boosting win against the Gators, a necessity for their NCAA Tournament hopes due to the expected scarce opportunities for quality wins in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The Flyers have only been to the NCAA Tournament once before in their history, when they travelled to Texas A&M and were swiftly eliminated in the 2012 College Station regional.
