One of the themes for Florida Baseball we had highlighted prior to their series against Ole Miss was the fact that the Gators were hitting .368 against teams outside the top 80 in RPI while they were hitting just .229 against teams in the top 80. Florida put some of those concerns to rest in their series against Ole Miss, scoring nine runs and eleven runs in back-to-back games against the Rebels.
So, in many ways, it shouldn't have been a surprise that the ball was flying out of the park on Tuesday night as Florida hit five home runs to cruise to an 8-4 win over UNF.
Florida Baseball: Torpedo Bat
Torpedo bats have been all the rage in MLB this week and while they haven't made their way to college baseball, the Gators had no problem with Osprey pitching.
All eight runs Florida scored came off a home run. The first four were all solo shots, with Justin Nadeau, Colby Shelton, Bobby Boser, and Brody Donay all putting one run on the board for Florida.
But UNF had some pop, too, and a solo shot in the 5th, followed by an unearned run on a throwing error by Nadeau, allowed UNF to tie things at 3-3 heading into the 5th.
Donay's home run made it 4-3 before Florida loaded the bases for Boser. His second home run of the night was a grand slam to make it 8-3 and separate Florida for good.

Florida used nine pitchers in this game, none of whom went further than two innings. Jake Clemente got the win while Caden McDonald had the best showing, going two innings with just one hit and no walks.
Florida now turns its attention to Vanderbilt for a massive series. If the Gators can take two-out-of-three, there is a light at the end of the tunnel for Florida to claw back and get things back on track.
Cade Kurland's season is done
It was announced that Cade Kurland is going to have shoulder surgery and will be done for the season. He hurt his shoulder against Miami and returned for three more games, including last week against FSU, before opting to shut things down.
Kurland was batting .316 in 14 games played in 2025.
