The betting odds for the Florida Gators against LSU have brought them closer and closer to LSU. Florida started as a 9.5-point underdog, but has seen the line dip inside a touchdown and settle at 6.5 points prior to kickoff.

After its loss against USF, it would be easy to write off Florida as a dead team walking. But based on the pre-game shenanigans between the two squads, Florida is trying to claim it is a team ready to "Spot the ball."

Florida and LSU get into a staredown pregame

No punches were thrown, nor was there any of the true chaos we have seen with some other rivalries around the country over the years, but Florida and LSU were engaged in a good old-fashioned staredown prior to kickoff on Saturday.

Florida vs. LSU is one of those rivalries that may not be on the mainstream of the nation, but it has definitely blossomed over the years.

At its core, this series has been defined by some wild games over the past decade, including the goal-line stand to send Florida to the SEC title game and the infamous shoe throw by Marco Wilson.

Last year, Florida seemed like a dead team walking after getting blasted by Texas the week before. Out of nowhere, the Florida defensive line put on a clinic against LSU and helped spark a 27-16 upset that sparked the four-game winning streak that gave the Gators momentum coming into the 2025 season.

Adding to the rivalry this season is the fact that Jack Pyburn and Ja'Keem Jackson transferred away from Florida and joined forces with LSU during the transfer portal period.

Yet despite the loss to USF and the fact that LSU is ranked No. 3 in the country, the spread for this game is just 6.5 points for the Tigers, giving the Gators a chance to legitimize the trash talk from before the game.
