Chieca took a visit to Alabama on January 11th. He had also visited LSU and Kentucky prior to that as SEC schools attempted to get his commitment. But on Sunday, he visited the University of Florida, and it was the Gators who impressed the most, with Chieca ultimately deciding to join the Swamp squad over other SEC schools in which he had offers from.
Coming into the 2026 season, Chieca has two years of eligibility remaining.
