It was an up and down season for Florida Football as the Gators started 4-5 before winning four in a row to close out the season.

In many ways, this season will be remembered for a variety of reasons and the following are the five most (positive) iconic moments we will be remembering from the 2024 campaign.

DJ Lagway throws first career touchdown

Coming into the season we all had high hopes for DJ Lagway, but until someone steps onto the field for real you never really know what you are going to get.

While he wound up getting inserted against Miami in mop up duty after Graham Mertz got hurt, Lagway's formal debut came a week later against Samford and it was everything we could have dreamed of.

Lagway was hitting deep shots all night in manner that hadn't been seen in Gainesville in a hot minute, and first career touchdown to Tank Hawkins was a reminder of how bright the future is with Lagway.

Florida ties it up against Tennessee

It was unfortunate that this moment was promptly thwarted in overtime, but when people talk about Billy Napier's squad having fight in them all season, this is one of the moments that highlights that.

The Gators were on the road, with a freshman QB, against a top ten opponent they had been giving away points to, and still found a way to drive down a tie it up to force overtime.

Jadan Baugh puts away LSU for good

For years, LSU had evolved into a thorn in the side of the Gators. It felt like every year Florida was on the brink of beating the Tigers, only for something to happen to allow LSU to pull away.

Coming off their beatdown against Texas, the Gators came out energized and enthused but needed one last knockout punch to win the game.

Freshman Jadan Baugh provided that punch from 55-yards out.

Florida stops JJ Pegues

Beating LSU was nice, but plenty of us wanted to see Napier actaully pull off back to back wins before we started the parade. And against Ole Miss, the Gators were on the heels plenty of times defensively.

But Florida found a way to stop Ole Miss defensive tackle JJ Pegues in short yardage situations in a way no one had all season. Coming into the game, Pegues was 12 for 12 at getting the first down when inserted at RB.

Against Florida, he was just three for six including this massive fourth down stop on the ten yard line.

George Gumbs plants the flag

Winning matters in college football, and whether you are pro or against flag planting this was a moment that was the ultimate rub it in moment to cement the abysmal train wreck that was FSU's 2024 campaign.
