There are multiple ways to keep things festive this week

With the holiday season in full swing, Florida Football fans are bound to be hitting up some Christmas parties over the next couple of days.

We here at Hail Florida Hail have five games for you to try to play with fellow Gator fans.

The Floor

If one wants to replicate the gameshow on Fox, it's actually not that hard to pull off. Upload a bunch of Gator-themed pictures into a PowerPoint/Google Slides presentation and download a chess timer app.

Players go back and forth, having to identify the pictures, and for each correct answer, they hit the timer to start the clock on their opponent. They can pass, but there is a time delay penalty. Whoever runs out of time first is the loser.

How many rounds you want to play will dictate how many pictures you need to find.

Bling Bling

This game goes by a couple of other names, but this game can incorporate as many players as you would like.

Depending on how many players you have, you will want each player to have about two or three slips of paper, and they will write down something Gator-themed, up to three words, and they will put in a bowl. This can be a player, place, SEC rival, etc.

Up to 20 to 25 total slips is a good number to have.

Then, break off into two random teams, and there are three rounds.

Round one is Taboo. Start the clock for 60 seconds, and players on team one will grab a slip from the bowl one by one in a circle and try to get their team to guess the clue without saying the name on the paper.

So, for Steve Spurrier, you might go "Head ball coach, visor throw, Heisman winner." Once 60 seconds is up, the other team gets to go. One point for each correct answer, but minus one for every pass.

The round ends when all clues have been guessed.

Then, all those same answers go back into the bowl, and round two is charades. The rules are the same: 60 seconds, go around the circle one by one.

This round will be tricky, but since all the answer options were read in round one, there should be some idea of what the clues are.

In round three, all the same answers will be used again. This round is Taboo again, but you only get to use one word. So, by this point, if you draw Steve Spurrier, you might just say "Coach."

Kahoot

If you have a student in school or are a teacher yourself, then you are probably familiar with Kahoot.

This can incorporate as many players as you would like. You will need to be able to cast on your TV and everyone will need a device (phone, tablet, laptop, etc).

These are multiple-choice questions where speed and accuracy are essential.

There is a premade Kahoot that has 25 questions, or if you are adventurous, you can make your own.

Florida Gator Musical Candy Canes

It's like musical chairs but with candy canes in the middle.

Pick a playlist with all your favorite Florida Gator songs and watch the chaos ensue.

Fantasy Draft

The website What If Sports has the ability to "simulate" matchups from teams from different eras.

They also have the ability to custom-make a team with players from all different eras.

So, if you really want to get adventurous, do a fantasy draft for either football or basketball and see which "Dream Team" would come out on top.
