It's cut day in the NFL, and the Florida Gators had 13 former players who were rookies this training camp.

Some of their spots on the 53-man roster were long shots to begin with.

As of the time of this posting, here is the updated list of where each former Gator stands with their new team.

Florida Gators awaiting cut day in the NFL

WR Chimere Dike (Tennessee Titans) - Very quiet this preseason with just two catches off six targets for a total of seven yards. Returns four kickoffs as well, with a long of 36 yards.

Still projected as a backup in 2025, but will need to show flashes to keep his spot.

DT Cam Jackson (Carolina Panthers) - 51 total snaps this preseason with just two total tackles to show for it, along two QB hurries.

It looks like he will make the roster in Carolina, but like Dike, he is going to need to up his play during the regular season.

CB Jason Marshall Jr. (Miami Dolphins) - Some are dubbing him the "steal of Miami's draft," which isn't shocking given the flashes he showed last year before getting hurt.

Took 67 snaps this preseason with nine pass targets against while giving up five total receptions for 55 yards.

LB Shemar James (Dallas Cowboys) - Solid preseason for James, who took 133 snaps with Dallas and was a staple in all three games this preseason.

He had 17 total tackles in the preseason with just one missed tackle and should sneak inside the 53-man roster.

QB Graham Mertz (Houston Texans) - A disaster of a preseason opener followed by a pretty solid preseason finale has Mertz on the borderline, but assuming the Texans keep just two QBs on their 53-man roster, it looks like Mertz will be heading to the practice squad to start 2025.

P Jeremy Crawshaw (Denver Broncos) - Six punts for an average of 43 yards per punt with a long of 61 yards.

He's the only punter Denver had on their 90-man roster, so unless the Broncos try to get someone off waivers, he is safe.

S Trikweze Bridges (Los Angeles Chargers) - Mixed reviews throughout training camp, and he got targeted a ton in the preseason.

He was waived today by the Chargers and will hope to come back on the practice squad.

OT Brandon Crenshaw Dickson (Tennessee Titans) - 51 snaps over the three preseason games. His first game against the Bucs was rough but he looked better in the finale.

It didn't look like he would make the 53-man roster, but as of now, it appears that he will survive cut day.

DT Desmond Watson (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) - If you know, you know.

Watson drew headlines all camp long because the Bucs opted to hold him out due to his weight. He was cut on Monday, and it does not appear Tampa Bay is going to keep him around, though head coach Todd Bowles didn't rule out a return down the road.

RB Montrell Johnson Jr. (Philadelphia Eagles) - After missing the first preseason game and getting bottled up in the second, Johnson ran for 57 yards off 15 carries and a touchdown in the finale.

But given the loaded running back room in Philadelphia, Johnson was cut by the Eagles but is a candidate to join the practice squad.

EDGE Ja'Markis Weston (New York Jets) - One of the more under-the-radar names for even the most dedicated of Gator fans, Weston looks to have carved out a role as a special teams ace for the Jets, and it appears he is going to make the 53-man roster.

WR Elijhah Badger (Kansas City Chiefs) - Flashed a couple of times during camp, but only made three catches during the preseason.

There is some belief that Kansas City didn't showcase him a ton in the finale (just five total snaps) so he doesn't get claimed on waivers and they can sneak him onto the practice squad.

LB RJ Moten (New England Patriots) - Was a mid camp add for New England after a brief stint with the UFL this spring, but it was obvious Moten was nothing more than a camp body for the Patriots.

He took 34 snaps across the three preseason games, failed to make any kind of meaningful impact, and was cut.
