EA Sports still is not giving Florida’s Jadan Baugh enough respect in CFB 27

Baugh is only the 9th best RB in the game

CFB 27 is set to release in the coming weeks, and EA Sports is slowly but surely releasing player ratings for some of the top players. Of the top 70 rated players in the game, the only player from Florida to make it was Jadan Baugh.

Even though Baugh is rated 91 overall, he is also only the 9th-highest-rated running back in the game. On paper, that feels far too low

So let’s take a look at the eight RBs rated ahead of Baugh and see if EA Sports got it right or if they need to go back to the drawing board.

Florida’s Jadan Baugh is still not rated high enough in CFB27

Ahmad Hardy - Missouri

The highest rated RB in the game, there is a side of us that wants to paint Hardy as a Missouri merchant who benefits from the relatively soft schedule the Tigers tend to enjoy. But even when we compare apples to apples, it’s hard to deny Hardy is legit. Even last year, his yards after contact of 4.60 was a full yard higher than Baugh’s.

Kewan Lacy - Ole Miss

Coincidentally, his best game of 2025 was against the Gators when he bulldozed through for 224 yards, but his overall production across the board wasn’t any better than Baugh’s from 2025, especially when factoring in Lacy’s schedule and the offense he got to play in. Baugh had better yards per carry and yards after contact than Lacy in 2025. At worst, these two should be even.

Mark Fletcher Jr. - Miami

It really wasn’t until the postseason that Fletcher Jr. started to shine for the Hurricanes in 2025. Even with a monster postseason, Baugh wound up with more total yards in 12 games than Fletcher Jr. had in 14 games. Fletcher Jr. did wind up with a better yards per carry and yards after contact, plus he had to be the engine that dragged Carson Beck along, so this is fair enough.

Antwan Raymond - Rutgers

We can debate the first three RBs ranked ahead of Baugh, and there are some semantics to argue, but it is defensible to have those three where they are. Raymond at No. 4 feels like someone at EA Sports trying to prove they are smart by adding the under-the-radar Rutgers player. Raymond was ranked No. 29 RB by PFF last year (of RBs with at least 100 carries), is viewed as a day three NFL Draft pick, and didn’t even have a top 25 strength of schedule he had to face.

Isaac Brown - Louisville

This one is tough because Brown missed a chunk of 2025, and Miami is the only real opponent of note he faced when healthy. But when on the field, he did ball out consistently, averaging 8.8 yards per carry. For what it’s worth, though, PFF had him rated lower than Raymond in 2025. This feels more like a speculative rating versus a complete body of work.

LJ Martin - BYU

Martin comes in one spot ahead of Raymond on PFF, for context, and is viewed as a round three pick as it stands. This feels more like getting a bump from BYU than anything else. In a lot of ways, his season somewhat mirrors BYU as a whole as he was bottled up twice against Texas Tech.

Caleb Hawkins - Oklahoma State

There is no denying that Caleb Hakwins was a very good player for North Texas last season and has stats across the board that are better than Baugh's. He also benefited from playing a North Texas schedule, and in the American Conference title game, Jon Sumrall contained him with just 7 carries and 20 yards. Hawkins transferred to Oklahoma State in the offseason. Baugh should be higher than him.

Cam Cook - West Virginia

Another beneficiary of playing in the G5, Cook put up 1,650 yards for Jacksonville State in 2025. But his yards per carry and yards after contact aren’t so much better than Baugh’s that he should be rated ahead of him for 2026, especially since Cook is still viewed as a day three pick right now for the 2027 NFL Draft.
