We'll have to wait at least another week for Dallas Wilson to make his debut with the Gators.

The true freshman has been dealing with a lower-body injury since training camp and was not dressed for the second straight week. Wilson was seen on the sidelines with his foot still in a boot.

Gator fans have been excited to see Wilson, a 5-star receiver out of Tampa, on the field after he had an outstanding performance in the spring game, catching 10 passes for 195 yards and two touchdowns. During SEC media days, Billy Napier said that Wilson's presence would make Florida better.

"I think what I really appreciate about Dallas this spring is his work ethic, his work capacity, his toughness, the way he competes in practice, his practice habits. He's a big, physical player. He's a tough guard. He's a tough matchup," Napier said. "Now, look, the guy hasn't played in a game yet, right. So there's some growth that needs to take place. So there will be a different level of self-discipline and intensity and urgency once we get to the season, but there's no question Dallas is going to make our team better."

Caleb Banks is also not available

It looked like there was a good chance that Banks would be able to suit up this week after Napier said that he was getting close. But the mammoth defensive tackle did not participate in warm-ups and was ruled out.

Mizell is ready to roll

On the good news injury front, sophomore wide receiver Aidan Mizell is in and should provide a nice boost to the passing game. Mizell had 17 catches for 202 yards and two scores last season. He is expected to take on a much bigger role in 2025.

In Napier's final teleconference before the start of the season, he pointed to the areas where he believed Mizell would show improvement this season.

"We know that he’s a really good player as a run after catch player, as a vertical stretch player. He’s capable in those areas. Those are his strengths, but I think he needs to continue to develop as a route runner, just the entire route tree inside and outside, and then those things I mentioned before," Napier said. "He brings a lot of great things to the table, but I think he’ll need to continue to work hard on some of those areas where he needs to improve.”
