You've got to be kidding, right? The Florida Gators are all set to open up camp and the expectation was that quarterback DJ Lagway would have a clean bill of health leading up to the first day of practice. Unfortunately, that's not going to be the case.
According to multiple reports, Lagway is dealing with a new lower-leg injury and he's currently in a protective boot. According to Swamp247's Zach Goodall, this is a 'minor' injury for Lagway and it's something that the staff isn't overly concerned about.
We understand that, but at the same time, Lagway now dealing with a completely different issue after overcoming his serious shoulder problem and lower-body injury is the last thing anyone wants to see. It also provides Billy Napier with a new headache to deal with now that Week 1 is getting closer.

Florida QB DJ Lagway dealing with a new leg injury is worrisome
"Florida starting quarterback DJ Lagway is dealing with a new lower-body injury that has caused him to wear a walking boot ahead of the Gators' upcoming fall training camp, multiple sources informed Swamp247," Goodall wrote. "Neither specifics nor a recovery timeline for Lagway's injury were disclosed, although the ailment was described as minor and not of long-term concern."
The fact that this isn't serious is lucky. However, there are countless questions on everyone's mind about this. How did Lagway get hurt? Is he going to be able to practice on Wednesday to open up camp with his teammates? Is his status for Week 1 a bit up in the air?
That's all unknown right now. What we do know is that Lagway is in a boot and he's not at 100 percent. Florida is all set to open the season in late August against Long Island University. Then after that, a Week 2 showdown will be on the way against South Florida.
Things will then get tricky on Sept. 13 against LSU. Lagway needs to be at his best for the Gators to take down Brian Kelly and the Tigers and his health also can't be something Florida needs to worry about. We thought the injury concerns for the youngster were in the rear-view mirror, but this latest update - even if it's being painted as minor - will have plenty of people worried moving forward.
