Coming off a career high, Jeriah Warren looks to keep Florida rolling against FAMU
Florida Women's Basketball is off and running for 2024/25 campaign and cruised to an opening night victory over FAU. Senior guard Jeriah Warren was front and center of the win as she notched a career-high 21 points off 7/12 shooting.
As the Gators look to take a step forward in 2024/25, Warren will be a key cog in getting the Gators back to the NCAA Tournament.

Florida will take on Florida A&M today at 5PM at home. The Gators are coming off a 82-54 victory, while FAMU lost to Howard 78-66. No formal odds are out for the game, but it is safe to say Florida could win this game by 30+ points and no one would blink an eye.
As such, it sets up another potentially big night for Warren. Prior to the opener against FAU, her career high for a single game was the 12 points she scored against Arkansas last year. She had appeared in 96 games prior to this season but had only reached double digits in points three times.
As Florida head coach Kelly Rae Finley pointed out after their win on Monday, Warren's contribution was crucial to take the pressure off center Ra Shaya Kyle.
"That's the value of a team. And then in the second half, third [and] fourth quarter, they had to double-team, they had to really sit on Shay. Well now, Jeriah – it's just as good as an assist to me, in my book."
Florida finished 16-16 last season and were 5-11 in SEC play. The Gators were picked 9th out of 16 in the SEC preseason poll with hopes of going to the NCAA Tournament for just the third time since 2014/15.
If Warren's emergence isn't a one-time fluke, it will go a long way in getting Florida back to postseason play.
