It's safe to say the 2025 season has not played out as anticipated for the Gators.
Head Coach Billy Napier and his team are 1-3, and that's not accounting for one of the hardest remaining schedules in the country.
Despite the struggles, 2026 Florida tight end commit Kekua "Rhino" Aumua thinks the Gators can still turn it around. He also updated Hail Florida Hail on his commitment status.
Offense needs to step up
As most Florida fans are well aware, the Gators have displayed an embarrassingly poor performance on the offensive side of the ball, averaging just eleven points per game (not including the beatdown of Long Island).
Aumua shares in this belief, emphasizing the offense's need to "step up" sooner rather than later. "The leaders on the offensive side of the ball need to step up and take charge. The Gators have the talent to compete for a natty. One of the best defenses for sure in college football."
That potential development will be put to test later today when the Gators take on the ninth-ranked Longhorns.
Status of his commitment
Aumua committed to Florida on June 9th this year. The 6'6 260 lb. three-star prospect chose the Gators over North Carolina, Cal, Washington, and several others. He played for IMG Academy in Bradenton before transferring back to his home state for his senior season.
Aumua confirmed to Hail Florida Hail that he is currently not speaking with any schools besides Florida, adding that OC/TE coach Russ Callaway speaks to him "everyday." He also plans to sign in the early signing period and enroll early at Florida.
His message for Florida fans is clear: he doesn't intend to spend time rebuilding the program back up. He wants to compete for a national championship right away.
"2026 natty here we come!"
