Maybe Aaron Taylor knows something we don't know.
With the smoke surrounding Lane Kiffin to LSU getting hotter by the minute, Taylor, an analyst for CBS Sports, still believes that the Ole Miss coach will leave the Grove for The Swamp. And he seems to be standing on some business by saying the deal is already done.

"I think he's going to be in Gainesville. I've heard some things that he's already talked to the team and that's why everybody is so frustrated, because it's a done deal, it just hasn't been announced," Taylor said.
Aaron Taylor has been in the game for a hot minute. He used to have a much higher profile back when he was with ABC/ESPN, but he's not normally a hot take type of guy, so I don't doubt he has some sources somewhere that have told him something.
If we think know the answer, Kiffin changes the question
I think Lane Kiffin coming to Florida would be a blast. Is he perfect as a coach? Absolutely not and he'll frustrate the Gators fanbase occasionally like he has everywhere else he's been. But Florida fans want an offense, they want good quarterback play, they want points, and they want to be back in the discussion. Kiffin offers all of that.
But he's also a little unhinged and this "will he stay, will he go" drama is the sort of thing he likes. Most college football coaches are strictly college football. They breathe it 24/7 and anything not college football related is an inconvenience. But Kiffin embraces the show. He likes the drama and this soap opera is very much on brand for him.

As for the Florida decision makers. It's all-or-nothing at this point. They have backed themselves in a corner and anything other than Kiffin will look like a disappointing downgrade and be judged as such. That doesn't seem fair, but that's where we are.
