Heyman was the fifth Gator to come off the board in the 2025 MLB draft.
Heyman, a utility catcher/ first baseman, played in 49 games for the Gators in 2025 (45 as a catcher, two at first base, and two as a designated hitter). He was in the midst of a phenomenal season before an injury ended his junior season early.
The right-handed batter from Longwood hit .301 through 49 games in 2025, with a .578 slugging percentage and a .397 on-base percentage. He hit seven doubles, one triple, 13 home runs, drove in 44 RBIs, and 37 runs scored. He was on pace to have a personal best year in all hit columns had the injury not ended his season. Even in just those 49 games, his on-base and slugging percentages were personal bests.
Over the course of his three seasons with the University of Florida, he hit a combined .282, slugging .530, and had an on-base percentage of .365. He totaled 27 doubles, three triples, 41 home runs, while driving in 135 career RBIs, with 113 runs scored.
In 2025, Heyman earned 2-25 ABCA Second Team Southeast All-Region [C], 2025 All SEC-First Team [C], and a 2025 Buster Posey Award Semifinalist.
Heyman has a power bat that has the ability to produce damage offensively.
