Thud. You just can't have that kind of a performance be showcased in Week 2. Florida football had no excuses going up against USF on Saturday night, as a strong win was supposed to be posted. Instead, the Gators were stunned at The Swamp.

As you might have been able to guess, there's already been speculation that head man Billy Napier could lose his job unless he manages a way to turn the season around. Fans online are already calling for him to get canned, as the campaign feels a bit lost already. When asked about his job security, even Napier had to admit that what just happened was totally unacceptable:

Florida fans want Billy Napier gone after the embarrassing loss to USF

Florida head coach Billy Napier is on the hot seat after the Week 2 loss to USF

"Yeah, we created it," Napier said. "We deserve it. If you play football like that, you're going to be criticized. It comes with the territory. The only thing you can do is go get it fixed and that's what we'll start working on tomorrow."

You've almost got to feel bad for Napier. As you can see in the clip above, he looks totally dejected following that defeat to Alex Golesh and Co. Again, this was a total stunner, as a lot of us expected Florida to take care of business and do so in head-turning fashion.

Instead, an embarrassing performance was posted and there's little to no confidence among the fanbase that a Week 3 win against LSU will get posted. The Gators taking on the Tigers in Baton Rouge was potentially going to be a College GameDay fixture, but with the loss, it opened the door for ESPN to pick Tennessee vs. Georgia instead.

Florida needs to wake up and it needs to do so fast. The schedule for the next four games is brutal, with LSU, Miami, Texas and Texas A&M on the way. Could the Gators go 0-4 during that stretch against ranked teams? It's very much in the cards. If that somehow ends up happening, Napier will be on his way out of Gainesville - there will be no saving him.
