Saturday night in Oxford was a frustrating one for the Florida Gators, as there were numerous moments Florida would have wanted back that could have swung the outcome in favor of the good guys.
Among the most frustrating was a back-breaking interception from DJ Lagway in the 4th quarter that served as another disappointing moment from a disappointing season.
DJ Lagway throws another interception
In the 4th quarter, Florida was down 27-24 but was driving in Ole Miss territory. Faced with 3rd and five on the Ole Miss 30, worst-case scenario, the Gators could have set up for a Trey Smack field goal.
Lagway rolled out left and seemed to have an open Aidan Mizell for a 1st down.
One problem, though:
The ball got tipped and fell into the arms of Ole Miss.

Billy Gonzales addressed the play after the game:
"Obviously, it was third down, and we were in field goal position coming off the sidelines. We talked about this before, just trying to — great players and competitors always want the ball in their hands.
They want to be able to make the play. They want to give everything that they've got. That's who he is, it's in his DNA as well.
But we've got to make great decisions. I talked about that before: there's a time to try to extend the play, but there's also a time to understand you've just got to be able to pull the ball down and run, or get the ball out of our hands at certain times.
It's a learning experience obviously, but we can't throw back across our body, especially when we're coming back to the left."
If we are being fair to Lagway, the throw was there to be made; he just didn't make it.
And while it is a standard rule of thumb to not throw across the body, Lagway has seemingly had the green light to do that during his time in Gainesville, so it's not like this was out of character for Lagway.
If Lagway winds up sticking around once a new coach is hired, one can hope these types of back-breaking moments actually get fixed, as Lagway has looked like a shell of himself compared to last season.
