For the past five years, Florida Football has managed to get someone drafted in the 1st round of the NFL Draft. Barring something unforeseen, that streak is not going to continue in 2025.
However, Florida does have a number of players who are on the fringe of being Day 3 draft picks, and based on the current mock draft, the upcoming combine season is going to be massive in improving the stock of all these players.
Cam Jackson
After helping shore up the interior of Florida's defensive line, most mock drafts seem to have Jackson as a 6th or 7th round pick.
But CBS Sports dropped a list last month of their top 150 prospects, and with a solid combine, Jackson has a pathway to shoot up big boards and sneak in as a Day 2 pick.
Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson
One of the more underrated members of the Gators in 2024, Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson, eventually was inserted as the full-time starter and helped stabilize the offensive line.
Mock drafts are starting to peg him in the 4th round, and Pro Football Focus has even had him as high as a 3rd rounder.
Jason Marshall
Once upon a time, Jason Marshall was viewed as a potential 1st round pick before poor play killed that dream. But before his season-ending injury in 2024 he was starting to play well and some mock drafts around that time had him in the 3rd round.
Right now he seems to be on the radar as a Day 3 pick, but a great combine could shoot him back into Day 2.
Elijhah Badger
Despite three years of solid production, two at Arizona State and one with Florida, most mock drafts don't have Elijhah Badger sneaking into Day 2. As it stands right now, he seems to be a popular candidate to go in Round 6, and it feels like his 40-yard dash time will dictate a rise or fall.
Chimere Dike
If you go on NFL Mock Draft Database, there isn't a single mock draft that has Dike on their radar.
But he is coming off a career-high season and is at the Senior Bowl, so it's possible his buzz will start to rise.
Montrell Johnson
There is only one mock draft that has Montrell Johnson on their board, and he goes in the 7th of that one. Given his strength is vision over speed, combine season might not be kind to Johnson.
But if he can find the right fit in the NFL even as a UDFA, he has a pathway to stick around.
Graham Mertz
After coming back one more year with the hopes of boosting his draft stock, Graham Mertz is in a bit of limbo after playing poorly against Miami and Texas A&M, followed by his season-ending injury against Tennessee.
Someone might take a flyer on him in the 6th or 7th round, but more than likely he will need to make a practice squad as a UDFA.
Shemar James
After three productive years with Florida, Shemar James declared for the NFL Draft with one year of eligibility remaining.
Some mock drafts last year had him on their radar, but no mock draft since he has declared for the draft has him listed.
Jeremy Crawshaw
Punters normally don't get drafted, though we have seen in recent years some teams take a swing at one.
Jeremy Crawshaw was one of the most consistent punters in the country the last two seasons and could sneak his way into the draft with solid workouts.
