The momentum for Florida’s class of 2027 is starting to take hold as the Gators continue to line up their official visits for this summer. Jon Sumrall and crew have had a string of 2027 prospects line up visits, many of whom don’t have other official visits planned just yet.
Over the weekend, Florida lined up another official visit with a rising prospect out of Alabama.
Braden Gordon lines up official visit with Florida
Braden Gordon is listed as an athlete out of Montgomery, Alabama. ESPN has him as a four-star while Rivals and 247 both list him as a three-star. Gordon is listed at 6’4” and 200 pounds, and the plan is for him to play linebacker once he is in college.
His film is somewhat tricky to make out, but it does paint a picture of a blitzing linebacker that opponents struggle to have answers for. When he does get his hands on a ball carrier, he wraps up well and isn’t just reliant on trying to deliver a huge blow to bring his man down. Realistically, Gordon would play some form of an OLB in college, though if he continues to put on weight, he could wind up with the size to play EDGE.
He also plays running back and is a physical ball carrier who racked up 455 yards on just 61 carries. He also had 11 touchdowns in 2025.
Gordon was in town last month for Florida’s Junior Day, and he confirmed with Rivals and 247 over the weekend that he is set to take an official visit to Florida this June. Gordon also got recent offers from Georgia Tech, Miami, and Kentucky. Previously, he had offers from LSU, Notre Dame, Michigan, Auburn, and Alabama.
According to his 247 profile, the official visit to Gainesville is the only one he has lined up at the moment, though one would assume he will have some other ones lined up in the near future.
