Florida Football had a busy weekend as official recruiting visits got underway. Billy Napier welcomed a number of prospects on campus and got a commitment from three-star defensive lineman Jamir Perez.
But there is another prospect who was in town who would be a massive addition for the Gators. It's also the exact type of prospect Napier has yet to land during his time with Florida.
Florida Gators Hope to Land Felix Ojo
Felix Ojo is an offensive tackle out of Texas. All four major services have him in the top 20 overall and he is a composite top ten player in the country.
Listed at 6'7" and 280 pounds, Ojo's strength on film comes from his lengthy wingspan that doesn't allow oncoming rushers to ever get set up to even attempt a second move.
He doesn't pancake guys to the extent some other top-rated guys do, but he is athletic to get upfield, and he usually makes sure to finish a play even after the play has gone by him.
It's also important to note he is on the younger side among prospects within the class of 2026, so there is still plenty of room for growth.
It's easy to see where there is such upside with Ojo, and it is fair to ask if Florida has what it takes to land him. We've seen Florida in the past during the Billy Napier Era be in the running for a five-star offensive tackle, only to fall off in the end.
By all accounts, Ojo's visit went well. He wasn't afraid to admit to recruiting insiders that NIL money will play a factor, but he claims it's not all that he cares about, and he wants to wind up where he can also be developed.
Ojo has visits lined up with Ohio State, Oklahoma, Michigan, and Texas, so there is going to be plenty of competition for Florida to beat out. But if Billy Napier and crew want to flip the narrative on whether or not they can land top-rated offensive tackles, Ojo is a great chance to do that.
