If you've followed Florida Basketball this season, you know the Gators thrive on adaptability. Every game, a new hero steps up, and last week, that hero was Alex Condon's turn.

After a monster performance in Florida's road win over Arkansas, Condon has been named SEC Player of the Week.

Florida Basketball: Next Man Up

The Gators struggled early in Fayetteville. Arkansas came out swinging, jumping to an early 11-2 lead. But Florida's size helped the Gators regain control, and at the center of that shift was Condon, whose dominance in the second half helped the Gators pull away.

With Florida's big men in foul trouble, Condon stepped up, delivering 12 points, four assists, and six of his ten rebounds after halftime. He also added a crucial block to cap off his third double-double of the season. His efforts helped the Gators overcome a sluggish first half, where they shot just 31%, to pull away in the second, shooting an impressive 48%.

Saturday's performance followed up the double-double he had against Tennesee, scoring 12 points with 12 rebounds in Florida's historic blowout of the Volunteers. According to a press release from the SEC, "Condon is the first player in the nation this century to go for 12 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists without a turnover vs. the No. 1 team."

The end result is Condon was named co-SEC Player of the Week along with Mark Sears of Alabama.

Florida takes the court next on Tuesday against Missouri at home.
