Add AI to the list of entities that lack faith in Florida Football in 2025

Yesterday, we highlighted how Paul Finebaum doesn't have much faith in Florida Football in 2025. The ESPN pundit predicted that Florida would start SEC 0-4, leading to Billy Napier's ultimate departure from Gainesville.

In what feels like a continued wave of entities that don't think Florida will be very good in 2025, the AI source Grok is also in line with Finebaum.

Florida Football: At The Bottom

Saturday Down South ran a piece where they said they asked Grok, the AI assistant on X/Twitter, to rank the 16 coaches in the SEC.

Kirby Smart was ranked on top, followed by Steve Sarkisian. That seems fair enough, given their success last year as the two participants in the SEC Championship game.

If you were looking for Billy Napier, well let's just say you had to scroll.

And scroll.

And scroll.

And it wasn't until one reached the bottom of the list that Napier appeared in 16th.

According to Grok, they said:

"Why: Napier's 15-22 record (4-8 in 2024) has Florida fans restless. Despite a solid 40-12 stint at Louisiana, his SEC tenure has been marred by inconsistency and a brutal 2025 schedule ahead."

Nobody said AI was perfect, as Gator fans will immediately pick up on Napier's incorrect record (19-19 and not 15-22) and Florida's 2024 record being wildly wrong (4-8 instead of 8-5).

The backend comment about inconsistency and a brutal 2025 schedule that essentially mirrors the 2024 schedule is accurate, though ranking Napier behind the likes of Jeff Lebby, Sam Pittman, and Brent Venables is quite harsh, and that's us here at Hail Florida Hail saying that.

Whether it's Finebaum or AI, the good news for Napier is that he is going to have every opportunity to prove everyone wrong in 2025. With DJ Lagway under center, there is a real pathway for Florida to go 10-2 if things go correct.
