If you’re wondering why that name sounds familiar, it’s because he’s a former Florida commit. Rashada, the Pittsburgh, California native (from Pittsburgh High School) originally committed to the University of Miami of as part of his 2023 recruitment trail. He then de-committed from Miami and committed to the University of Florida. He then de-committed from the Gators and committed and enrolled at Arizona State. This is where things got a little ugly, and were very public.
When Rashada de-committed from Florida he was also in the process of sueing Billy Napier and the Florida boosters. He claimed they defrauded him out of millions of dollars by backing out a promised $13.85 million agreement. He was the first known college athlete to sue his coach or a booster of name, image, and likeness deals. It was a lawsuit that was made very public and ultimately the argument over the agreement between UF and Rashada led to him de-committing and then committing to Arizona State.
Rashada, the 6’4”, 183lb quarterback played in just three games for Arizona State and then redshirted. In those three games he was 44-of-82 for 485 yards and four touchdowns in 2023.
He then transferred from Arizona state to Georgia for the 2024 season, however he did not enter into a game with the Gators’ rival Bulldogs. After sitting the bench for Georgia he proceeded to transfer to Sacramento State, however things yet again did not go how he was hoping.
Rashada played in just six games but only started two in 2025. He suffered a thumb injury after the first two games of the season and was limited in his ability to play. Of the six games he appeared in, the transfer was 17-of-42 for 269 yards with one touchdown and one interception. His touchdown came against Central Arkansas. It was a 50-yard touchdown pass.
On the ground, he rushed for 10 attempts, but was backed up for negative four yards overall.
Now, the redshirt sophomore is headed to the transfer portal. This will be the fourth time he’s transferred and the sixth school’s he committed to since 2023.
With a “lack of trust” with Gators boosters, it would be a surprise if the Gators went after him in through the portal.
