Even though the transfer portal is set to close on Friday, that is only for players to declare to enter the portal itself. Players can still take visits and sign with a new team after Friday, as long as they are in the portal by Friday.
Florida has landed over 20 players out of the transfer portal, but they are looking for more, and this weekend, they are set to host a defensive back who faced the Gators in 2025.
Jonas Duclona set to make a visit to Gainesville
Based on reports from Gators Online and Swamp247, USF defensive back Jonas Duclona is set to take a visit to Gainesville this weekend.

Duclona lined up primarily as a wide cornerback for USF in 2025 and took 652 total snaps for the Bulls, 581 of which came on defense, and the other 71 came on special teams. Coincidentally, Duclona only took 14 snaps during USF’s win over Florida in September, but by season’s end, he was entrenched as a starter for the Bulls and took as many as 80 snaps in a single game.
Duclona gave up 13 receptions and just one touchdown on the season.
Listed at 5’11 and 190 pounds, he is a Naples native who originally signed with Wisconsin out of high school, but he saw minimal action with the Badgers.
The cornerback room for Florida is in an interesting spot heading into 2026. The group has seen a ton of turnover this offseason and has yet to land a high-profile transfer who would automatically get entrenched as a starter for Florida. But, even with Duclona’s role as a starter for USF, there would be no guarantee he himself would be a starter for the Gators. Florida still has Dijon Johnson, Cormani McClain, and Ben Hanks III coming back in 2026.
But Duclona could give some much-needed depth and competition to the group with the upside of being a potential starter with a solid jump this offseason.
Based on reports, a smattering of other schools are also in the mix to try to land Duclona.
