There's no question that it just feels different for the Florida Gators when they are staring across the field at the Georgia Bulldogs. Florida has a few rivalries, but Georgia is different. It's deeper than that.
When the Gators play the Bulldogs it's not just about winning the game. It's about embarrassing Georgia and leaving the Bulldogs questioning why they ever decided to step on the field against Florida or why they ever decided to play for that program. When the Gators are at their best, blowout wins over the Bulldogs is a mere formality. Here are five times that Florida put the hammer down on Georgia:
The Cocktail...errr, Outdoor Party took a two-year break from Jacksonville, so the stadium could be renovated for the incoming Jaguars, so Florida had to beat the stuffing out of Georgia in Gainesville (1994) and Athens (1995). This gets the top spot because Steve Spurrier is so wonderfully petty. The Gators took a 28-0 lead before the fans even got settled, and it was never a contest. Danny Wuerffel threw five touchdowns, but the best part was Eric Kresser throwing a touchdown pass to Travis McGriff on the final play of the game because Spurrier hated Georgia that much.
Why did I choose this game over...say the 1994 game in Gainesville, which the Gators won 52-14? No real reason because they were all significant beat downs. But Kirby Smart was on the roster in 1995 and 1996 and that's how we're rolling today. Florida had a 37-0 lead in the fourth quarter before Georgia scored on the second team. Wuerffel threw four touchdown passes and the Gators were continuing their path toward a national championship.

Urban Meyer didn't need many reasons to be petty, but Mark Richt gave plenty of ammunition the year before. Georgia not only beat Florida in 2007, but the entire Bulldogs roster congregated in the end zone to celebrate their first touchdown of that game. Meyer remembered and so did the rest of the Gators as they absolutely destroyed Georgia. Things got real in the second half when Florida scored 35 straight points to turn a 14-3 halftime lead into a laugher. Tim Tebow accounted for five touchdowns.
Y'all thought Meyer would be good with just one blowout victory against Georgia? No sir. The game was a little closer, especially in the middle of the game when the Bulldogs tried to put up a fight, but Tebow was unstoppable again, responsible for four touchdowns and breaking Herschel Walker's SEC rushing touchdown record. Brandon Spikes closed the show with an interception return that had half the stadium rocking.

There are bigger blowouts in the history of this rivalry, but this game gets the nod because of how a .500 Gators team physically demolished a top-10 ranked Bulldogs squad. Florida rushed for over 400 yards and threw just SIX passes. Both Kelvin Taylor and Matt Jones had 25 carries and over 190 yards rushing. It was the beginning of the end for Richt at Georgia, as he just couldn't figure out how to beat those Gators.
