Is Jarelayn McCoy's wandering eye something to worry about? It could be.
The composite 4-star defensive line Gators commit will be in Starkville today, taking a short drive from his Tupelo, Mississippi home, to watch Mississippi State play Alcorn State. McCoy made his verbal pledge to the Gatora in mid-June, after taking an official visit to Gainesville.

Before making his decision, it appeared that McCoy was down to Florida and Ole Miss, so the Bulldogs seem to be more of a recent development. Earlier this week, McCoy made the list of the 40 most exciting recruits, according to ESPN football recruiting scouts Craig Haubert and Billy Tucker.
ESPN has McCoy listed as a 5-star prospect and said the following about him:
""Despite their early-season setback, the Gators are still in a better place than they were at this time a year ago. Still, their improved defense could use more pass rush firepower with Tyreak Sapp in his final year. McCoy could eventually be even better than Sapp. The five-star has an excellent motor, good practice habits and an alpha presence along the defensive line. He has the coveted length and collection of tools to become a top SEC defender."Craig Haubert & Billy Tucker, ESPN.com

Any comparisons to Sapp should make Gator fans very excited and possibly a little worried that McCoy is visiting elsewhere. Before we read too much into this, I don't know why McCoy particularly chose this game to see. Maybe he has some connections to Alcorn State? Who knows. The bottom line is, I don't believe this visit will lead to a decommitment or a flip or anything right now. It's just something worth keeping an eye on.
The fact that Florida is struggling on the field makes every commitment a little concerned, so these visits don't surprise me. But if the Gators can handle business tonight against LSU, the recruits will be excited again.
