Could the Florida Gators pull off another recruiting surprise before the end of the spring?
Four-star athlete Jerry Outhouse backed away from his commitment to Georgia on Wednesday. He made a pledge to the Bulldogs in early March, but had several official visits on his summer schedule, including one to Florida on May 29.

When Outhouse committed, the other schools mentioned in the mix were Florida, Texas Tech, UCLA and a few others. Outhouse told Mike Roach of 247Sports that the Gators were a late arrival in his recruitment, but he had a good connection with the coaches, most notably safeties coach Chris Collins.
"I've never really had a connection with Florida," Outhouse told Roach back in March. "The coaches came and talked to me, and I feel like I had a good connection with them. I feel like I want to see what that blue and orange is talking about."
Outhouse's other scheduled visits are to UCLA (May 15), Texas Tech (June 5), Georgia (June 12) and Arizona State (June 19). There's no word on adjustments to that schedule now that he has de-committed from Georgia.
Gators are back in the mix for 4-star athlete Jerry Outhouse
Jon Sumrall has already shown that he isn't scared to jump into some major recruiting battles and has already flipped four-star cornerback Aamaury Fountain from South Carolina.
Outhouse offers a chance for Sumrall to add another blue-chip prospect to the class. The Gators have made an impressive splash in recruiting this spring, landing five-star offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller and four-star quarterback Davin Davidson within a three-day span earlier in the month. Since then, Florida has continued to stay hot, adding four-star offensive linemen Peyton Miller and Tommy Douglas along with in-state speedster Anthony Jennings.
The Gators currently have a top-10 class and are gearing up for a busy stretch of recruiting in May and June where nearly every top target and commitment will be on campus for official visits. Sumrall has already shown a commitment to bringing in top blue-chip talent that should reshape the roster and put Florida back among the top programs in college football.
