That couldn't have ended quicker. Florida owned a 10-game home winning streak against Tennessee leading up to Saturday night, but everything changed. The Vols posted a 31-11 victory over the Gators and nothing went right for DJ Lagway and his teammates in this one.

Ron DeSantis recognizes the Gator frustration boiling over after another flop

Florida fans were hoping that the Gators would show some fight and keep the Gainesville nightmare going for Josh Heupel and the Vols, but the opposite turned out to be the case. In this piece, we have our main takeaways and observations from the action and as you probably could have guessed, there's nothing positive to say about Florida.

4. Florida came out of the gates totally flat against Tennessee

Where was the energy and passion to take down a hated rival? Florida looked sluggish from start to finish and the performance in the first quarter alone was quite embarrassing. Tennessee outgained Florida 190-to-1 in the first 15 minutes of play, which was unacceptable.

The Vols looked like the hungrier team, which was so disappointing for so many different reasons. Lagway and the offensive line had their struggles, but what went on during practice leading up to kickoff?

3. Tennessee looks like a CFP team, but mistakes will haunt them

Tennessee looked pretty damn good in this one, especially in the first half. The offense is tremendous, with quarterback Joey Aguilar no question being a step up from Nico Iamaleava. Unfortunately for the Vols, they're 8-3 on the year and on the outside looking in for the CFP.

However, if they had one extra win on their schedule, they'd probably be CFP-bound. The loss a lot of people keep bringing up is the one to Georgia. The Vols had Georgia facing 4th-and-8 in the 4th quarter, but gave up a TD. Then, Max Gilbert had a chance to walk things off with a field goal, but his attempt sailed wide. It's going to be a year of 'what could have been' for UT.

2. Lane Kiffin is needed to save Florida from this disaster

Perhaps the biggest observation in terms of the fanbase is that they're all begging for the glory days to return. Despite the lopsided loss, the stands were still packed and the atmosphere at The Swamp looked downright electric. So, who's going to help bring the program back from the dead?

Enter Lane Kiffin. If Florida misses out on the high-profile coach after firing Billy Napier, then who will the Gators go after? Reports seem to indicate that LSU is in the driver's seat to poach Kiffin from Ole Miss, but that Florida won't go down without a fight. Give him a blank check and get this done.

1. DJ Lagway's play isn't getting the job done, but he wants to stay

Obviously, the loss isn't just on Lagway, but he just isn't living up to his 5-star hype this season. However, while some people are expecting him to enter the transfer portal, he continues to say that's not going to happen.

While speaking to the media on Saturday night, Lagway once again said he loved being a Gator and his intention is to stay. The sooner a new coach is hired the better, as we'll all have a better idea of how said coach will be able to develop the young QB moving forward.
