Florida Football Recruiting: Georgia in danger of losing Dylan Raiola

If you are looking for good news regarding Florida football recruiting, it is becoming harder and harder. The Gators have lost several members from their 2024 class and are at risk of having Xavier Filsaime become the next to flip.

With that in mind, for as gloom and doom as it seems for Florida, at least the Gators are not the only powerhouse prone to having their top recruits flip at the last moment.

Florida Football: Dawgs like corn

Dylan Raiola has been Georgia's prize prospect in the 2024 cycle. Raiola has bounced around his entire high school career but moved to Georgia in 2023 in preparation for enrolling with UGA in 2024.

Raiola finished his season with Buford High, throwing 34 touchdowns and just one interception, and up until yesterday, the waters were calm around the Raiola camp.

Then 247 Sports Director of Football Recruiting Steve Wiltfongdropped a nugget almost out of nowhere, indicating he thought Raiola was going to flip from Georgia to Nebraska.

Wiltfong tends to be right more times than not, with an all-time crystal ball rate of 91%.

But why on Earth would Raiola even consider Nebraska?

His father, Dominic Raiola, was an All-American center for the Cornhuskers before starting a 14-year NFL career. His uncle, Donovan Raiola, is the offensive line coach at Nebraska.

Given the deep family ties, Raiola will take an official visit to Lincoln before early signing day.

What would this mean for the Gators? It would leave Georgia just vulnerable enough for there to be a light at the end of the tunnel from the current reign of terror the Dawgs have had. Georgia didn't sign a QB in 2023, had four-star Gunner Stocktonarrive in 2022, and signed five-star Brock Vandagriff in 2021, though he has already transferred out.

Of course, in the modern age of college football, Kirby Smart could find some 24-year-old to be the QB, but Smart has tried to avoid utilizing the transfer portal if he can help it.
