It is Transfer Portal Day, and Florida football has already seen a number of players opt to try to find greener pastures. But just as the transfer portal takes, the portal can give as well.

With Ricky Pearsall graduating and Caleb Douglas transferring, Billy Napier and the Gators are going to be in the market for a wide receiver in this year’s portal.

The following are some of the most notable names to hit the portal so far. Obviously, Florida won’t get all of these guys, and Napier might not be interested in some of them.

But they are players to keep an eye on, as someone notable will have them next year.

Florida Football Top Wide Receivers

Antwane Wells

  • South Carolina
  • 2022 – 941 yards receiving
  • 2023 – Injured

Originally a low-rated prospect who committed to James Maddison, Wells parlayed a monster 2021 season where he amassed 1,138 yards into a spot with the Gamecocks for 2022.

Wells proved he belonged in the SEC and was a key target for Spencer Rattler during the 2022 campaign.

Wells hurt his foot during South Carolina’s game against Georgia and wasn’t seen for the rest of the season.

Despite saying in November that he would return to South Carolina for the 2024 season, Wells has opted to enter the transfer portal as a grad transfer with two seasons of eligibility left.

Expect Wells to be at the top of the big board for almost every program in the country.
