The highly anticipated SEC Championship game between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Georgia Bulldogs is set to take place on Saturday, December 2nd, 2023, at 4:00 PM ET at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

This showdown will determine the SEC champion and have significant implications for the College Football Playoff.

How to Watch the SEC Championship

The SEC Championship game will be broadcast live on CBS and will be available to stream on Paramount+.

What is at stake?

If Georgia wins, they will undoubtedly head into the College Football Playoff as the number one seed, and Alabama will be eliminated.

Things get chaotic if Alabama wins. With Washington in the playoffs for sure and Michigan in as long as they beat Iowa, the last two spots get tricky. In this scenario, one would have to think that Alabama has the inside track on Georgia. But because of their loss earlier this season, Texas has had the inside track on Alabama all season.

If the Longhorns beat Oklahoma State, it is hard to see the committee changing course and having Alabama leapfrog them. That leaves potentially undefeated FSU as the only other team to knock out, and even if the committee makes the bold choice to have one loss Alabama leapfrog them, it would leave Georgia out in the cold.
