Florida football made the switch at kicker in the middle of the season to Trey Smack. For most of the season, Smack was rock-solid with a powerful but accurate leg.

The player he replaced in the middle of the season, Adam Mihalek, took to social media to announce plans to transfer this offseason.

Florida Football: Kick it

Mihalek came to Florida out of Wiregrass High School in the Tampa area. He didn’t see any action in 2021 before he won the kicking battle in camp heading into 2022.

He was Florida’s full-time kicker for 2022 and went 14 for 21 on field goal attempts. He made a long of 52 yards against Georgia.

Mihalek was tabbed the starter this season, winning the offseason battle against Smack. Unfortunately, he missed a short field goal against Utah and looked out of sorts against Tennessee with a missed extra point and a blocked field goal.

Florida made the switch that game to Smack, and Mihalek wasn’t used the rest of the season. With Smack due to come back next season, the likelihood of Mihalek kicking next season for Florida football was low.

On his announcement on X, Mihalek was complimentary of Billy Napier and the rest of the Florida program.
