Florida Football Dream Solutions: Eli Drinkwitz

In one breath, Eli Drinkwitz is not someone that would excite Gator Nation, given that the best recruiting class Drinkwitz has been able to pull of the 18th ranked class in 2022. Even with the success Missouri is having this season, the Tigers are only ranked 45th with their 2024 class.

Would that improve at Florida? It would be a question he would have to answer, and it could quickly devolve into a Dan Mullen situation of a good on field coach with terrible off field recruiting.

But what we do know is that despite a perceived talent deficiency, the Tigers were 6-7 the last two seasons, just like Florida, before becoming the surprise team of the SEC this season at 8-2.

At just 40 years old, he fits the mold of someone who would stick around for a long time if he gets it he gets it right.

If Gators fans want someone with SEC head coaching experience, this will be the most available candidate.
