Florida football sits at 5-5 after a strong start to the season and suddenly has an uphill battle if they want to be bowl-eligible.

After being 5-2 with a win over Tennessee and a comeback against South Carolina, it felt like this Florida team was going to prove a lot of people wrong.

But the back half of this schedule has proven to be even harder than we all thought it would be. That touch stretch continues this weekend when the Gators go on the road to play the Missouri Tigers.

Mizzou has looked very strong over the past few weeks, which is reflected in the opening line for this game, where the Gators are +11.

Florida football: Florida has lost the trust of the public

A couple of weeks ago, the public was betting a lot on the Gators and trusting them to take care of business against the easier teams they were playing earlier on.

Over the past 21 days, however, that has flipped over to where Florida isn’t getting bet on a whole lot.

The line for this weekend actually debuted at +10, but 87% of the best have come in on Missouri and quickly moved it up to +11.

From a football point of view, it makes sense to expect a lot more bets to come in for Missouri as the week goes on.

The Florida defense has looked awful after a great start to the season. What do we think Brady Cook and Luther Burden are going to do when they line up against Florida’s secondary?

If Florida wants to keep this game close and cover for the first time in three games, they’re going to need the defense to step up and get some stops. It can’t get much worse than letting Jayden Daniels do things that nobody has ever done before.

So if you want to bet on Florida this week, patience is recommended. This number will keep going up as the week goes on.
