Florida Football Keep Grinding: Jason Marshall

  • Main Motivation – Regain elite status

There were some really high hopes for Jason Marshall coming into the 2023 season. Early mock drafts pegged him as a potential first-round pick for the 2024 draft. After playing a ton of off-ball coverage under the scheme Patrick Toney employed, fans were excited to see what Marshall could do when allowed to showcase his talents.

Unfortunately, 2023 has not been an elite season for Marshall.

There have been flashes where Marshall reminds us of why he had the potential to be elite, but consistency issues have been burned into the minds of Gator fans.

PFF has Marshall rated 189th in the country among defensive backs for coverage in 2023.

So whether Marshall tests the waters in NFL or opts to come back for one more year in Gainesville, Marshall will have more than enough opportunity these final three games to give himself momentum heading into the offseason.
