Florida football: Gators open as two touchdown underdogs at LSU
By Will Thomas
Florida football is coming off of a bad loss to Arkansas at home last weekend, and the road doesn’t get much easier from here on out.
Even with the status of LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels in question, the Gators are still not getting a whole lot of respect coming into this one.
Florida opens up as a two-touchdown underdog for their trip to Death Valley.
Florida football: Steep climb ahead
This game was always going to be a hard one for the Gators to pull off. And it doesn’t help that the game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Death Valley at night is a tough place to play.
But after the last few weeks for the Gators, it seems even harder than before. Losing a home game to a 2-6 Arkansas team doesn’t inspire tons of confidence as you go on the road.
Florida currently sits at +14 or +13.5 depending on where you look. ESPN Analytics gives the Gators just a 12.5% chance to win this game.
What’s interesting, however, is that Jayden Daniel’s injury status is drawing a lot of bettors to the Gators’ side. As of Tuesday afternoon, 66% of the bets are on Florida.
Now we could easily see those numbers swing in the other direction if Brian Kelly comes out on Thursday and says that Daniels is good to go. With Jayden playing, you won’t find a lot of people with enough confidence to say Florida will keep this one within two scores.
Be very cautious as a bettor if you want early action on this game. A final answer on if Daniels is playing will have a huge impact on the line.
