Florida football recruiting has put together one of the best 2024 recruiting classes in the country, currently ranked third in the nation.

There are several stars that have already committed to the Gators, but the class is headlined by 5-star QB DJ Lagway.

Lagway, out of Willis, Texas, is ranked as the third-best quarterback in the country by On3’s Industry Ranking and is a top-20 overall player.

So far through his senior season, DJ has been putting up ridiculous numbers and hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down.

Florida football recruiting: A new hope

Lagway has been so good that he’s already being revered as the savior of Florida football. And looking at the numbers he’s been putting up, it’s easy to see why.

Through nine games this season, DJ has thrown for 3,218 yards with a 77.9% completion percentage for 45 touchdowns and five picks, with a passer rating of 150.1.

He has also run the ball 61 times for 609 yards and nine more touchdowns. His production level is off the charts.

His most recent game was particularly insane. He was 29/35 in the air for 383 yards, four scores, and an interception, while also running the ball 13 times for 220 yards and three touchdowns.

That’s seven total TDs and over 600 yards of offense that went through him. What in the world?

Oh, and also he can do this.

It’s hard to find a hole in Lagway’s game. He’s got everything Billy Napier could want out of his QB recruit at this point.

When DJ gets to campus next season, he’ll no doubt be playing for the starting job. Given what he can do with his arm and his legs, it will be hard for Napier to keep him off the field.

So if you somehow haven’t heard Lagway’s name yet as a Gator fan, get used to reading about it. He’s gonna be great in Gainesville.
