Florida vs. Georgia prediction, odds, spread and over/under for College Football Week 9
By Will Thomas
Florida football is making the trip up to Jacksonville this weekend to take on the Georgia Bulldogs at this year’s World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.
Getting to play the No. 1 team in the country is always a privilege in college football. It’s made even more special when it’s a team that you hate more than almost anything else.
The Gators have a chance to shock the world this weekend, and on top of that topple your rival that has won their last 24 regular season games.
With just about 24 hours until this game kicks off, let’s get into a full betting preview for this game.
Florida football vs. Georgia odds, spread, and total
The Gators were +20.5 in the preseason when the line for this game initially came out. Now that games have been played and Brock Bowers is injured, that line has come all the way down to +14.5.
The over/under is currently set at 49.5, which is down from where it opened at 54.5. With a good UGA defense and a methodical Florida offense, as well as UGA mission their top target, a low total makes a lot of sense.
If you’re very confident in the Gators and want some juice, Florida is +450 on the money line to knock off the Bulldogs.

Florida football vs. Georgia key players to watch
Florida Gators
Princely Umanmielen: Princely has done a good job of applying pressure so far this season, but hasn’t always been able to convert those pressures into sacks/TFL. If he can get home and cause some havoc in UGA’s backfield, it will give UF a big advantage.
Jason Marshall: Marshall flat out hasn’t been as good as we all hoped he would be. With Bowers out, there will be a bigger emphasis on 1-on-1 matchups out wide with UGA’s receivers. The Gators need JM to step up in a big way this weekend.
Arlis Boardingham: We listed Arlis as the Gators’ X-factor this weekend for a reason. If he can be a reliable check-down target for Mertz, he can rack up a lot of catches and draw a lot of attention from UGA’s defense.
Georgia Bulldogs
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint: With Bowers out, the UGA wideouts will get a lot more reps in the passing game. Rosemy-Jacksaint will be the recipient of a lot of those targets and could play a big role in this one.
Smael Mondon Jr.: The Dawg’s leading tackler, Mondon will be tasked with stopping the Gators run game from his linebacker position. His effectiveness on that front will dictate how Florida tries to move the ball.
Tykee Smith: Smith leads UGA with four interceptions on the season. Mertz will have to know where he is if he wants to limit his turnovers and keep the ball out of harm’s way.
Florida football vs. Georgia Prediction and Pick
On paper, this game shouldn’t be very close, and Georgia should have no real issue getting to 8-0.
Rivalry games are strange. This Gators’ team seemed to have found something in their comeback win over South Carolina, and they’ll come into this one fired up and ready to play.
14.5 seems like enough points where you can feel comfortable taking Florida even if you don’t think they can pull off the upset.
Hail Florida Hail’s week three picks:
Florida +14.5.
Over 49.5.
