Florida football recruiting: Are the Gators a real threat to flip Jadan Baugh?
By Will Thomas
Florida football recruiting hasn’t shied away from going after recruits already committed to other schools through the 2024 cycle. That’s how Billy Napier has assembled such an elite class to this point.
With only a few spots left in ’24, that philosophy hasn’t changed, and the Gators are going after one of Sam Pittman’s guys.
Jadan Baugh, who has been committed to the Razorbacks since May of this season, has started to take a serious interest in the Gators.
He has a visit planned down the road and is starting to warm up to Florida as his recruitment winds down.
Florida football recruiting: Jack of all trades
One element of Baugh’s game that makes him so appealing to Billy Napier is his versatility, and his ability to plug and play just about anywhere on the field.
Baugh took meaningful snaps at QB, RB, WR, and S for Columbia High School in Decatur, Georgia.
As a running back he’s run for 1033 yards on 79 carries (13.1 YPC) through nine games with 14 touchdowns, and five games with 100+ yards.
Out wide, Jadan has caught 21 passes for 420 yards and three more touchdowns.
In the backend as a safety, he’s racked up 42 tackles and three passes with two more pass deflections. And, just because he can, he’s knocked through 14 extra points as well.
When Baugh committed to Arkansas, he was favored to end up at either Tennessee or South Carolina, so the Gators aren’t just trying to fight off the Razorbacks for his services.
Florida is recruiting him as a running back, and he would make a great pairing with Kahnen Daniels, who is Florida’s only RB commit in 2024.
If Napier and the Gators decide to go all in on Jadan, they should have what it takes to pull off the flip.
