Florida football recruiting has the third-ranked class in the 2024 recruiting cycle and has brought in a lot of their high-priority recruits throughout the cycle.

What’s even more impressive than all the guys that Billy Napier has gotten to commit is how effective he’s been at getting those guys to shut down their recruitments and fully lock in with the Gators.

The latest 2024 prospect to shut down his recruitment is Amir Jackson, a 6’5” tight end out of Portal Georgia.

Amir is ranked as the 10th-best tight end in the 2024 cycle and is a big name for Florida to have locked into its class.

Florida football recruiting: Building a culture

When talking with On3’s Chad Simmons about his decision to lock down with the Gators, this is what Amir had to say.

"“I am locked with Florida because of the relationships I have there. My relationships with Coach Napier and the other coaches are strong.”"

Throughout his tenure so far, which has really only been about 1.5 recruiting classes, Napier has done a great job of not just recruiting players who were good on the field, but guys who also wanted to be Gators.

Perhaps the best example of that in 2024 is DJ Lagway, who has been aggressively recruiting just about everybody to join him in Gainesville since he committed.

Lots of other 2024 guys have also shut down their recruitment along with Amir Jackson, providing a solid base for what will end up as one of the top classes in the country.

In Amir’s junior season, he caught 22 passes for 428 yards and four scores, as well as racking up 71 tackles, two forced fumbles, and an interception at safety.

Jackson is a freak on the field and is going to be a dynamic addition to the Gators when he gets to campus. He’s a good one for Napier and his staff to get locked in.
