As Florida football looks to lock in its 2024 recruiting class, it is not uncommon to see guys committed to UF take unofficial visits much in the same way Florida has had guys like Jeremiah Smith on campus for games.

The good news is for Gator fans, sometimes these visits turn into reminders of why a player chose Florida in the first place.

Florida Football: Crystal Ball This

Top 100 overall prospect Adarius Hayes took to X prior to the weekend to let it be known that he would be visiting Miami on Saturday to watch the Hurricanes take on Georgia Tech.

He stressed that it was a business trip with an opportunity to watch free football and that he was still fully locked in with the Gators.

This isn’t the first time Hayes has visited Miami, and he was the center of flip rumors over the summer that didn’t elevate into anything.

As far as the game he got to watch, Miami completed one of the greatest choke jobs in modern college football history in losing to Georgia Tech.

As you may have heard, Miami was leading 20-17 with less than 40 seconds left in the game and had the ball. Georgia Tech had no timeouts, and it was 3rd and 10. If Miami takes a knee, the game is literally over.

But in a moment that makes the Marco Wilson shoe throw look like child’s play, Miami head coach Mario Cristobal opted to run the ball up the middle. Miami fumbled the ball, and two plays later, Georgia Tech was in the endzone for the game-winning touchdown.

But as has been the case for Miami over the last 20 years, that brand has done everything in their power to make you feel special. They got the cool music, they got the lights., they got the fog machine, they got the girl.

Do you know what they do to make Florida football feel special?

They blow the freaking whistle.
