Florida Football Confidence Meter Week 7: South Carolina

  • Last Season: Florida won 38-6
  • HFH Confidence Meter Preseason: 60%
  • HFH Confidence Meter Last Week: 55%
  • HFH Confidence Meter Presently 55%

It is hard to get a read on South Carolina this season, but frankly, that follows the trend of what we saw last season.

As we keep pointing out, the team last season that knocked off Tennessee and Clemson is the same team that Florida football wiped the floor with the week prior.

Spencer Rattler does seem improved, and the Gamecocks put up 37 points on Mississippi State this past week.

But the defense for USC is not an elite defense, and Pro Football Focus ranks them as the 79th best defense in the country.

In particular, PFF has them as the 82nd-best run defense in the country.

In case you didn’t know, Florida does like to run the ball a lot.

One major concern will be special teams and if Florida runs 10 guys out on a return, best believe Shane Beamer will have something ready for that.
