You know, we here at Hail Florida Hail try our best to provide meaningful commentary about Florida football. We have our fair share of clickbait headlines, but we try our best to put substance behind what we write.

But as Limp Bizket once said, sometimes, some things, turn into dumb things. And that’s when you put your foot down.

And we’re going to be honest when we state that Graham Mertz has been roped into one of the dumbest things that we have written about on this website.

Florida Football: We did it Joe

We all remember Tiger King on Netflix because, in March of 2020, we were all sitting at home with nothing to do. It was the series where a worker had her arm mauled off by a tiger but went back to work shortly after, and it wasn’t even among the ten wildest things from the series.

Joe Exotic is still very much in jail but somehow still has access to Twitter/X.

The latter part is relevant because whoever is running the official Joe Exotic account is trying to start one of the wilder but extremely on-brand feuds and is bringing Florida football into the mix.

FSU survived and beat Clemson on Saturday in overtime. Combined with their victory earlier in the season over LSU, quarterback Jordan Travis put out a t-shirt on his website depicting himself as the Tiger King.

We’re not going to lie, it’s a shirt we would 100% buy if we were FSU fans.

Enough nice things about the Neighbors to the West.

Exotic caught wind of this shirt and didn’t take too kindly to Travis infringing on his territory.

We Tweeted/Xed out on Sunday that we were glad that Florida wasn’t involved in this reality circus.

Oh, but Joe Exotic couldn’t help himself, and the man knows the right buttons to push. Monday night, he dragged Florida into the mix with the most on-brand post from him we have ever seen.

We’re going to ignore the fact that Travis tore up the Gator defense last season and the fact that Exotic couldn’t be bothered to find a picture of Graham Mertz in a Gator uniform.

You know what, we’re going to ignore both the ethos and the logos of the argument that Exotic is making and focus on the pathos.

It’s with that in mind we agree Joe.

On November 25th, Mertz is going to cement himself as the king of Florida.

The only person who can ruin it at this point is that Caroll Baskins.

Next. Billy Napier doesn't provide clarity to two pressing issues. dark
