Florida football will fly out to Lexington this weekend to play the Kentucky Wildcats as they begin their week-in and week-out SEC slate.

This game has already seen a good bit of movement when it pertains to sports bettors. The Gators opened up at +3.5, but in the past 24 hours that has dropped down to +2.5.

An early move like this, especially one that crosses a key number like 3, is very telling about where the big money stands in this matchup.

The over/under has also dropped over the past 24 hours, leaning into the way that the Gators will want to play this one.

Florida football: It’s all coming together

As I said earlier, Florida opened up at +3.5 when this game first hit the markets. But there’s a little more to the line moving than it looks like.

Kentucky has been receiving 57% of the bets to cover at home against Florida, but the line dropped a full point.

What this tells us is that the people with the big bankrolls who give sportsbooks headaches at times are on Florida’s side.

A positive money differential like this one is a great indicator of what side you should play if you’re just a casual bettor.

The change in the over/under is also worth noting. After opening at 47.5, it’s down to 46, even though tickets were split evenly between both sides.

This is the same story as the spread. The big dogs out in Vegas like what they see.

It’s been the case in every game the Gators have played so far, but I’ll say it again. A lower-scoring, time-of-possession, run-the-rock game favors Florida and their elite RBs.

Now I’m not trying to say that this movement guarantees a Gators’ win. This is going to be a tough test for Florida to win on the road.

But it’s encouraging to see the numbers move the way they have so far this week.
