Florida football recruiting has already assembled one of the top classes in the 2024 cycle and is still looking for ways to add to its haul.

The Gators are bringing in three speedy wideouts to pair with DJ Lagway, but are still going after another top-15 receiver in the class who de-committed from Georgia yesterday.

Ny Carr, a 4-star wide receiver out of Moultrie, Georgia, decided to drop the Dawgs on Sunday and has long been on Billy Napier’s radar.

Now that he’s officially back on the market, I’d expect Florida to make a few phone calls and get involved in his recruitment once again.

Florida football recruiting: Potentially adding another speedster

The receivers that Florida has committed in 2023 (Tawaski Abrams, Jerrae Hawkins, Izaiah Williams) are all known for their speed.

Carr is the same way. He’s a burner on the outside and is electric with the ball in his hands. He reached a max speed of 21.9 mph on a touchdown in his junior season and has even more speed to unlock as he gets older.

We wrote about Ny earlier in the summer and recapped his stats from his junior and sophomore seasons.

In that same piece, we discussed how the Gators would likely receive an official visit from Carr before he signed his LOI.

Now that he’s no longer committed, I like Florida’s chances of getting him on campus even more. If Napier can get him and DJ Lagway in The Swamp at the same time, we’ll see a lot of positive buzz circling around.

Aside from UGA, the Gators are the favorites to land Carr, ahead of teams like Ohio State and Michigan.

Adding Carr to the crop of WRs the Gators already have locked down would make it one of the best offensive hauls in the country.
