Florida football recruiting has already put together one of the best recruiting classes in the 2024 cycle, locking down some of the best players from all over the country.

Billy Napier and his staff aren’t done yet however, and are still going after some of the top players in the class, regardless of if they’re committed somewhere else or not.

One guy who is committed elsewhere is 5-star wide receiver Cam Coleman, who is currently committed to Texas A&M.

But the Gators aren’t going away easily, and are still making a push to flip Coleman from Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies.

He told Corey Bender of On3: “Florida and Auburn are the schools recruiting me the hardest right now.”

Florida football recruiting: A pitch that gets better and better

Having 5-star QB DJ Lagway already on board is a pretty good way to get wideouts to flock to Gainesville. But now that games have been played, Florida’s pitch has gotten even better as they pursue Coleman.

True freshman Eugene Wilson III has seen immediate playing time and has gotten an increased role every week.

For a guy like Coleman, that immediate playing time is something that he’ll like. If you’re good enough to be on the field, that’s where you’ll be. It’s not senior-dominated like in years past.

The issue here is that it’s going to take a ton to flip Cam from A&M. He was heavily favored to go to Auburn throughout his entire recruitment, but then popped to the Aggies in a surprise commitment.

In this era, that generally means a major NIL incentive was given to him to go to College Station.

So not only will the Gators have to beat out Jimbo, but they’ll have to beat out what is likely a considerable amount of money too.

But if there’s one thing I’ve learned from watching Napier recruit this cycle, it’s that he doesn’t care where you’re committed or what caused you to go there.

If he wants you, he’s going to come and get you.
