Webb was RB 4 throughout training camp, but when Cam Carroll went down with an ACL injury, he stepped up and has taken on his new role with excitement.

Treyaun has only seen more than two carries in one game, which was the Gators’ contest with McNeese State in week two. But he only needed that one game to show Billy Napier and every Florida fan that he is here to make a difference.

In that game, he carried the ball 14 times for 71 yards (5.1 yards per carry) and two touchdowns. He displayed great vision out of the backfield and patience with his blockers, which are traits that not a lot of young RBs have.

His value lies less in his production to this point, but like Searcy, in the depth that he provides. He showed us all that he can be trusted to run the ball 10-15 times a game if needed.

Now, with Trevor Etienne and Montrell Johnson ahead of him, he won’t see that type of volume outside of garbage time.

But if one of those guys is forced to miss some time, we can trust that Webb will step up and fill their shoes very well.

Running back is not an easy position to play, nonetheless stay healthy at. That’s why being three guys deep at that position is so important.
