Before the start of the season, we rolled out our confidence meter for all 12 Florida football games. Our confidence meter last week was 100%, and it held true to form as the Gators rolled over McNeese State with zero resistance.

So, as the season progresses, we are going to update our meter to reflect the play of the Gators as well as the play of the teams on their schedule.

As we pointed out in our preseason confidence meter, just because we put a percentage over 50% doesn’t mean that we are betting the house on the Gators winning. It just means if Florida stays clean and avoids the dumb penalties like they took against Utah, we like their chances to win.

And last like week, when we had the confidence meter against Tennessee at 50%, Florida proved that theory to be true.

Florida Football Confidence Meter Week 4: Charlotte

  • Last Season: Did not play
  • HFH Confidence Meter Preseason: 97%
  • HFH Confidence Meter Last Week: 99%
  • HFH Confidence Meter Presently: 100%

Following their 41-25 defeat to Georgia State, UNC Charlotte head coach Biff Poggi said the following:

"“This falls on me. I’m telling you right now, I’m on a warpath,” Poggi said. “I just met with our coaches, and we’re going to get it done the way I want it done — or either I’m not going to be here, or they’re not going to be here. I am not doing this for the rest of the season.”"

So this brings up one of my favorite montages from the Netflix series Last Chance U.

Independence had a come to Jesus moment and had this great week of practice. There was energy and passion, and one felt they were going to steamroll over their next opponent.

At the very end of the montage, it cuts to the scoreboard at the end of that game, and they had lost once again.

If Trevor Etienne ran for 172 yards against Tennessee, what prayer does UNC Charlotte have?
