Florida football was celebrating a big win over Tennessee on Saturday night, but Florida football recruiting got a pretty big boost as well.

After the Gators’ win over Tenessee, 2025 RB Waltez Clark announced his commitment to the Gators.

Waltez was right at the top of Florida’s 2025 running back board, so getting him on board early is a major win for the Gators on the trail.

What is Waltez bringing to Gainesville?

Florida football recruiting: Dynamic playmaker at every position

Clark can just about do it all for the offense and was a jack of all trades for Plant High School during his sophomore season.

He carried the ball 87 times for 863 yards (9.9 YPC) and 18 touchdowns, as well as catching 27 balls for 512 yards and four more touchdowns.

When you look at his film, it’s no wonder how he managed to average almost 10 yards per carry. He just runs straight by people.

That’s it. Some players have more in-depth reasons for why they produce so much, but Clark really doesn’t. When he gets in open space, there aren’t many guys who can get him down.

He’s very quick with the ball in his hands and changes direction quickly to shake defenders in the second level to create big plays.

Per On3’s Industry Ranking, Clark is the 151st-best player in the country, the 12th-best running back in the 2025 class, and the 25th-best player coming out of Florida.

Florida had been the heavy favorite throughout Clark’s recruitment, with a 96.2% chance to land him per On3’s RPM, with Penn State being the team in second place.

Securing the in-state RB immediatelt after an impressvie home win is proof of two things.

First, The Swamp is just that type of atmosphere that can entice recruits in just one game. There’s no other stadium like it in the country,

Second, recruits are seeing amd beliveing in Billy Napier’s vision. Waltez is just the first domino to fall in the 2025 class.
