Sometimes, it gets exhausting writing about Florida football. Everyone on the internet who is paid far more money than us at Hail Florida Hail seems to believe that the Florida Gators should fire Billy Napier.

But like we said earlier this week, it is probably wise to stop writing Napier’s obituary when he hasn’t even been placed in the guillotine.

Florida Football: So, what would you like to say?

It got exhausting over the offseason trying to explain the vision Billy Napier had for the Florida Gators. We wrote and wrote and wrote about how success would take time, but when it did take hold, it would have substance to it that would last.

After a 29-16 beatdown that really wasn’t that close, do people in America believe yet?

People who make lots of money to comment on college football told us that Napier would get fired this season.

Maybe instead of super lazy narratives, people should listen to the part-time writers that comprise the site here at Hail Florida Hail.

We also fully acknowledge that it would be on brand for Florida to lose in two weeks to Kentucky.

But we have also pointed out time and time again that the foundation Napier is building has far more substance to it than the smoke and mirrors that his predecessors tried to sell to Gator Nation.

There are concerns that will continue to linger, mainly whether or not we, as Florida football fans, can trust whether or not the special teams for the Gators can stop being a liability.

But after enduring a barrage of written pieces and Tweets before it turned into X about how Florida was going to fire Billy Napier, it was nice for one night to feel justified in our belief that Napier will build a rock-solid program if given time.
